Fashion From Your Elders0

Lina Plioplyte directs an interview in New York that goes against the grain of our society– Older women that still dress to impress. We always see younger women in our magazines, but we forget about the ones I wonder what the fashionistas of this generation are going to be rocking in the next few decades.

What are your thoughts?

Tyra Banks Winter Fashion Tips1

It’s winter time, and it’s FREEZING! This weather has been crazy, but the winter is finally settling down. Well, in Michigan anyway. It’s a top priority to stay warm, but it’s also important to still look fierce. You can keep warm, and be fashionable still. I came across a post from Tyra Banks giving tips on staying warm and looking great:

“Ok, y’all, is it just me, or has the weather this season been wonky?! This winter just can’t get it together! Up, down, all over the place! Unless you’re livin’ in a tropical climate or you’re one of the lucky ones with warm weather year round, you’ve already put away those mini skirts and sundresses, pulled out the snow boots, and stocked up on gloves, expecting the temperature to hit fuh-reezing by now.

There have definitely been some cold days this year, (but where’s the snow?!) and seeing as it’s only January, we still have weeks and weeks of chilly temps to go! And during this time of year, things can get a wee bit tricky when we’re tryin’ to figure out what to wear. One minute you’re hot thanks to that packed subway commute and the next you’re on the street freezing your booty off!

You may hate lookin’ out the window and dreadin’ the morning walk to your car or office, but dressin’ for what feels like the Arctic isn’t impossible! When you’re stumped thinkin’ about what to throw on as the temperatures go down and down, don’t even stress. Just remember one important word: Layer. Whether I’m in NY or travelin’ somewhere else that I know will have my teeth chattering, I ALWAYS remember to layer. It lets you still wear some of your favorite fall pieces without givin’ in and puttin’ on that frumpy sweater you know will keep you toasty. It also lets you peel pieces off when you escape the cold and step inside some place where they may have the heat blastin’. (‘Cause sweating like crazy and lettin’ your hair get all frizzy from those sweat tendrils is just NOT cute.)

Keep winter cute this season and get started with a simple foundation. Pick up your staple fitted tank and your fave pair of jeans then put on a set of those classic riding boots – make sure you throw on some thick socks too to protect your toes from the chilly sidewalk. Top that with a long-sleeve button up shirt. Pair with a loose cardigan, one you can rock open or closed. I like to add a colored blazer – it lifts the drab grey of winter, dresses the outfit up and immediately and makes it all come together.

Now the essentials for surviving the cold this winter: If you are going to splurge on anything this season, it should be on a quality coat – full-length, short, pea coat, parka—whatever you need to protect you from the chill, a qreat coat will last you years! (Gettin’ a cold from the weather ‘cause you’re not dressin’ warm enough is anything but cute!)

When you’re jettin’ around town in that fancy winter coat, you wanna stand out, right?! Make sure you accessorize away with hats, gloves, scarves, and cutey-cute boots. Keepin’ that head warm will keep the rest of you nice and toasty, too.

Plus accessories are a lot of fun and let you show off your personality when all you can see a sea of coats.

Ready for one more reason I love to layer? You can go straight from the office to out on the town and never miss out on those impromptu plans after work or class again! Throw off that blazer, add a statement necklace, swipe on a red lip and you’re good to go.

Want to change it up when it’s not quite cold enough to bundle up completely? Still start with your layers, and then top it off with a cape or poncho. It’s a great alternative to a coat and it’s crazy chic! Don’t worry – I’m not talking about that cape from Red Riding Hood you remember from your childhood icon wink Tyra Banks Winter Fashion Tips

Have fun bundling up this season, one fab layer at a time!”

 Coco & Breezy

If you don’t know, this is Coco and Breezy. They are very creative individuals from their art, fashion, and sunglasses & accessory line. I am very inspired by these two. They  remind me a lot of me and my twin sister because we do everything together and like to express ourselves through creativity. We are very inspired by them, and hope to be as successful. Coco & Breezy have a sunglasses and accessory line, and it’s amazing to say the least. They are very edgy and creative.

Aside from that, they are currently hosting an art contest with artrise.com. The winner will win a free pair of sunglasses and their art will be displayed on cocoandbreezy.com. So if you are an artist, I would highly recommend entering.

“Live Life In Color” means to enjoy life, live it vibrantly, and express yourself in color. This promo video promotes our new items added to the Vibrant Doll online store! Taylor and I had tons of fun shooting this along with our photoshoot. Vanessa Carrillo, who I shot with earlier, was also featured in the video at the end in the slideshow. This was my first time directing a video and shooting it myself and I am very happy with the outcome. I love everything about it! My family is definitely obsessed with the video and so am I. I probably play it 10 times a day, lol! BIG HUGE THANKS to my good friend Donnie Marcos for putting it together and editing it. He’s really amazing and turned my little idea into this incredible piece of work! You all can expect a lot more collaborative work from us in the near future.
