This song……. this artist……. is soooooooo beautiful! I discovered this while browsing TheNext2Shine.com and instantly fell in love with De-Lor. This is my favorite song right now. Listen to the words, I’m sure we all have felt this way.
As of tonight, I am a HUGE Elle Varner fan! OH MY GOSH! I love this doll! Her voice? amazing. Her lyrics? we can all relate. Elle has a message to deliver to the world and I’m listening. I swear, you all will love her! In the past, Vibrant Doll has blogged about her song with J. Cole, which I really liked, but I felt we needed to hear more. She has definitely impressed me and I am so excited to hear more. Who is Elle, you ask?
“Introducing Elle Varner…
Elle Varner, born of two published songwriters, spent most of her childhood sleeping on studio couches, running around green rooms, and watching her parents struggle to make a name in the industry. With music running through her veins, Elle was singing as soon as she could speak, playing the flute at 6 and the piano at 9. But it wasn’t until her attendance at AGC (Amazing Grace Conservatory) that her ear for harmony, melody and complex rhythm truly developed.
At age 16, Elle picked up the guitar for the first time. Frustrated that she wasn’t instantly as good as Hendrix, she dropped the guitar and became a part of The Hamilton Academy of Music’s Vocal Jazz Group. Once there, she learned about the complexity of the voice, jazz music and talented jazz artists like Ella Fitzgerald. Elle was surprised to discover that she had been chosen to be a part of The Grammy in the Schools Mentoring Program. Through this program she was taken weekly to the Fox Studio, where she met with mentor Kelly Burgos, and President of Fox Music, Robert Kraft.
Soon after, Elle hesitantly applied to NYU with her C average and was surprisingly accepted. Not only did she get in, but also she was admitted into the second class of the Clive Davis Program of Recorded Music. Upon graduating, she was awarded “most likely to get signed” and “most likely to win a Grammy.” Four years later she finds herself a well-rounded and cultured singer-songwriter.
Currently, Elle Varner is signed to MBK/J Records, a team that recognizes her many talents; from her unique voice complimented by her guitar strum to her potential of becoming one of music’s greatest songwriters. A little girl whose deepest comfort was once found in the vibration of the human voice will soon be comforting this world with her highly anticipated debut album.”

OMARI SAKIR is part of XO, which some might know of from Abel Tesfaye’s latest work or you might associate it with Abel’s project ‘The Weeknd’. I find it sad that Abel Tesfaye is getting alot of hype (although deserved), but there is so much more talent to be explored under XO. Although, it’s only the beginning and I have a feeling the whole group will get their chance to shine at one point. I find this song to be very inspirational, he starts out with “It’s time to get mad!” It makes one want to change and take control of your life. So many good messages in Omari’s work. Listen and tell me what you get out of it.

I know the Weeknd fans were highly anticipating video debut and it did not disappoint! The Weeknd is known for having fresher more innovative approaches to his music and this video gives you just that. He intertwined some Ethiopian history intohis first video which was lovely, how many artists you know have something educational to offer in their music these days? Do I hear crickets? This is exactyly why we need to keep an eye out for these artists because they come once in a lifetime!
Jay Ant is a Bay Area Artist; he was in a group called THE DILIGENTZ here in the Bay Area during the punk rock movement. He just recently came out with a mixtape called ‘I Am Most Ratchet’, and POSE is one of the songs on the mixtape which I love. Here is the official video for POSE!

kaleidoscopic, creative, inspiring. What Makes You A Doll?
I believe what makes me a doll, is that I am not afraid to be different. I am a box of differences packed into one! My hometown is pretty drab and full of similarities. However, I stand out not only in my race & culture, but my dress, persona, and how I carry myself. I am ME and I love it!
