Lime Crime: so bright, it’s illegal
Lime Crime is a company that is known for being over the top bright (vibrant!) ,with cute packaging, and PETA- certified cruelty-free (all vegan). This wonderful stuff is made by a lady named Doe Dere who couldn’t find bright enough makeup for her taste, does that sound like any of you? It said on the website that, “these products are a color revolution. It’s about challenging the norm, doing things your way – and getting away with it! Our dare-to-wear cosmetics boast an unmatched color payoff so you can create looks as vivid and unique as you are.” When I read that, I knew Lime crime was for me!

When I recieved my package I descovered it was exactly what I expected, carefully put together, beautifully designed, bright packaging!
Ahhhh! When I opened up the package to find the wonderful lipstick, I swear I felt a tear come down! The packaging is to die for. I am a true fan of packaging. I’m the type to buy from MAC’s specialty collections just because of the packaging. I have heard Lime Crimes packaging being compared to MAC’s Heatherette… but better! I never had the chance to snag Heatherette’s products, but based on pictures I rather have Lime Crime’s packaging any day! The royal purple with the metallic silver accent is magnificent.
Finally, how I feel about the lipstick itself:
Airborne Unicorn: I love this color! It has officially become my everyday lipstick! I top it it with some MAC lipgloss and I’m set for the day. It’s truly a beautiful color. You can apply it lighter for a more lay back look, or layer it on for a going out to the club look.
New Yolk City: When they said bright, they meant it! This of course I would not wear everyday, but if you apply it lighter and apply some lipgloss this color can work wonders. It is definitely good for mixing. Very unique! I am glad to have it in my collection
Both are long lasting and have a great smell. I noticed that alot of lipsticks have that strong smell. I hate it! This smell is subtle and refreshing. Both can be mixed and match easily for different looks and are gaurunteed to set you apart from the rest!
Overall Rating: 5/5 stars
Before I did this review I looked through the web to see others opinion, just to make sure I didn’t miss an important detail. Guess what I found?… alot of hate on this product. I was in shock, but when I went through and read why I felt like it was rediculous. Alot of the negativity was saying that Lime Crime can easily be duplicated by MAC. I could say that could be a reasonable areguement so I read on, all the colors they were talking about are limited addition. I heard one blog bash Lime Crime because one of their lipsticks look amazingly close to Pink Friday. Think about it though, how many people can go out and buy Pink Friday, right now, for less than $40? Exactly! Plus with MAC you don’t get the amazing packaging. So if anything we should be happy that there is dupes. You get alot of MAC’s limited edition lipsticks at your leisure year around for a good price. It’s perfect if you ask me! If you are still worried about dupes, I wouldn’t worry. Some of there colors, as of now, I personally couldn’t find a duplicate and are very original.
