J*DaVeY @ Yoshi’s SF Review9

IMG 0935a J*DaVeY @ Yoshis SF Review

J*Davey moved crowds at Yoshi’s San Francisco Thursday; in perhaps the venues liveliest show ever.  Full of people dancing in the crowd, or on the stage, the show delivered nothing but pure genius, thanks to Miss Jack Davey, and Brook D’Leau, the duo known as J*Davey.   For our opinions, we didn’t want to do the basic review where we talk about certain aspects of the show, we wanted to be real and concise with how we felt.  Since both of us went, we both have our own opinions so pay close attention.

Bionca Doll: When I heard J*Davey was coming to San Francisco, I think I almost died. I was way too excited, because I’m a big fan of their music and I’ve never seen them live before. I instantly purchased my tickets, picked the very front row table, even though I had to pay extra to “choose seats” but shoot, I just HAD to! Anticipating the concert, even though I saw them earlier this month @SOM DJing as Black Morris, I was still too excited for this night to arrive. And now here I am, wishing I could rewind the crazy cool night I enjoyed. J*Davey is the true definition of entertainers. They know how to put on a show; they are fun, and definitely talented. If you like their music, coming to one of their shows will cause you to fall in love with them. Amazing? Yes. Jack & Brook work so beautifully together and you can really tell they have a great musical connection. J*Davey makes music that puts you on some type of high that you just don’t want to go away. It’s 3am right now, and I am just in WOW of the show I just experienced. Not only are they great performers, they are the nicest people ever. It’s so cool to see artists who are actually down to earth. Stuck up? Not one bit! I love them! And so does everyone else that showed up tonight. It was so cool when they let fans run up on stage and dance/sing with them, even though the venue looked like they were NOT trying to have it! You could really tell that they have some really loyal fans (such as myself! lol) that are extremely fascinated by their music in some way. All throughout the concert, you heard fans shouting their name. It was too funny! I was representing for the J*Davey babies! (hey babes!) so I just HAD to be there. But I think out of all the concerts I have been to, this is definitely in my top 2. Can’t wait to see J*Davey take the stage again! If not in San Francisco, then I’m going to have to make that trip down to LA.

Erin Doll: Honestly, I really liked this concert, being that I go to so many concerts (why I never have left over money) I felt this concert was well worth the money.  I think Jack and Brook did a great job at incorporating the old with the new as far as song choice – the new song, that I assume is called “Click,” is dope stuff.   I at times feel let down at concerts because the artists don’t always connect with the fans, and don’t always perform stuff the fans want to here, and they definitely did this, I wanted to hear “Slooow,” and I definitely did.  Also, echoing off Bionca, Jack and Brook have great chemistry on the stage, and are super nice when you meet them.  If you haven’t’ ever been to a show, your doing a disservice to yourself, so I’d advice you pause your life, look at Ticketmaster or something, and get on that fast, because as of now your slacking.

With all that being said, the point has been made GO SEE J*DAVEY if you see that they are coming to your area.  Check the pictures after the jump.

melody Melody Ehsani

Melody Ehsani seriously makes some hot, to-die-for, type jewelry. I remember I had seen a few people with the big lightening bolt earrings and I asked “where the heck did you get those?!?!” and of course – no one wanted to tell me, so I looked to google to find out. And WAH-LAH! Melody Ehsani was the designer. I love her stuff. She has earrings, necklaces, 3-finger rings, and even heels. They’re so fresh, and it’s not every day you see someone walking around with the type of stuff she makes. Prices range from $20-$100 dollars, a little more for some things, but generally most of the earrings, rings, and necklaces are around $60. They are worth it.

Spring Colour Forecast

Feb 2010 [US/Canada]

MAC Cosmetics will be releasing their Spring Colour Forecast collection next month. Lately, the collections haven’t really been catching my attention…. this one? It looks okay. Nothing to go crazy over. But I’d definitely like to check out the collection once its released. Pictures are cool and all, but I like to see it for my own eyes, that way I can test colors and see how they look on me. It’s pretty colorful though, I love me some pinks and purples… Click the link below for Pictures & product details.
